College costs a lot more than it used to. According to a 2010 Trends in College Pricing report by College Board, since the year 2000, public four-year tuition and fees have increased more than 5 percent annually above inflation. Tuition at public two-year colleges and private four-year colleges also increased by 3 percent above inflation. The economy stinks, and your parents have no money. Well, hopefully that's not 100 percent accurate, but there's definitely some truth to that statement. While parents still very much value contributing to their children's college tuition, the amount that families can afford to contribute has declined.

American v.s Italian Education Differences

After doing research about the differences in degrees between the United States and Italy, I came to the conclusion that the Italian education system is a lot more diligent and strict then the American education system! In America we offer an Associates Degree which in this country hardly means anything anymore after two complete years. In Italy their Doctorates Degree is accomplished in a three year minimum and is worth a lot more then the eight years Doctorates requirement in America. So if I were you in college move to Italy and get a degree.

College Degree Benefits

I feel as if a college degree is worth the time, money, and effort to a certain extent. A Degree just helps out with being better on an application, but overall it comes down to who is the more efficient worker. For instance my step brother didn't even graduate from high school but he has a 6 figure office job because he went out and worked for success. People in our country think that a degree will get you the job but its the desire, hunger , and effort put into the job that will help you be successful. A college degree can only be helpful if the degree earned is a part of your job acquirement's. For an example to become a doctor you meet the critics needed, there is no such thing as a good doctor or a bad doctor because at the end of the day they all get paid the same. So I believe that a degree will get you one step closer but it always comes down to who is the harder worker.
